There’s been lots of debate in the Shake Social office about which is better for live streaming video: Periscope or Meerkat. Periscope had been winning hands down except for one little detail – there was no way of replaying content with Periscope (Well done Meerkat!). Until now. Periscope Now Enables Web Replays: Users can click the link to a Periscope stream and hit the play button to rewatch it on the web (within 24 hours). Sweeeet!
But the thing I’m really excited about (like, ridiculously so) is over on Facebook – they’re testing Lead Ads and they’re going to be incredible. Building an email list is key to any business. But the process of building that list through forms can be cumbersome.
With Lead Ads, when users give their contact information to Facebook, they will use it to automatically populate data forms – including phone number, email address – even home addresses if that person has given that info to Facebook.
Instead it will be two simple taps. First click the call-to-action button, like “Subscribe,” and then confirm by clicking “Submit.” No more manually filling out forms! This is such big news for marketers, we’ll be rolling this out for our clients as soon as it’s available. Awesome.
