As always there is a lot happening in the social media world! Twitter is jumping on the live content bandwagon with a new Periscope button, businesses can now create Youtube ads from mobile – and a host of other developments:
- Pinterest advertising has become more efficient with their targeting tool – 3 new options have been added that allow marketers and businesses to more effectively distribute promoted pins. The new options comprise of customer list retargeting, website visitor retargeting and lookalike targeting (similar to Facebook ads if any of you have used them).
- Snapchat is now allowing companies and brands to buy advertising with approved Snapchat partners. There are two types of Snapchat partners: Advertising partners and creative partners. The advertising side will be specialising in purchasing and analyzing ads and the creative partners will assist with video format advertising.
- Twitter will be allowing emoji keyword targeting for advertising. For example, when someone posts a food related emoji they may see advertising from restaurants and takeaways. It will be interesting to see if any brands take on the poop emoji!
- Facebook has introduced a store locator function which will help to drive footfall and sales. Consumers will be able to click on a map link in an advert to see key information about the business – including address, phone number, website and estimated time of travel to the business.
If you think any of these changes can be of use to your business or have any other enquiries then do not hesitate to get in touch.
