As you know, social media is a handy, cost effective tool for promoting your business online, but this is not its only use. The majority of people on social media are using it for personal reasons, to keep in touch with friends and family, for example, to find interesting news stories, or to keep up to date with their favourite celebrity.
Many parents now especially use social media to stay in contact with their children after they have moved away to university, or gone travelling, for example. People have even been known to start relationships after meeting on social media. A recent study showed that more than a third of people married between 2005 and 2012 met online, and this isn’t just through the route of online dating sites, but also through social sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
