There are a number of different ways you can use Twitter lists. Here are five ideas for lists that might make life that bit easier:
1. Employee Team – If you have a large team, or even a very small team, sometimes coming together as a whole can send out a loud message. By grouping together your star staff, other people in the wider public can see the type of people you employee and what they individually engage with too. It can also build a better relationship with your team as well, as everyone interacts with one another.
2. Industry-focused – If you want to focus on a particular industry, having companies all in one list can prove beyond useful. This might be a market you wish to expand in to, an industry you specialise in or even your competitors so you can keep track of what they’re up to. Might want to keep that one private though! Using Twitter to study an industry like this is a great market research tool. Who knows? You might find that magic gap in the market just by seeing the field in one timeline.
3. Family – Having your family all there in one list can be a life saver. Did you forget about your sister’s birthday, and are now struggling to figure out what to get them? No worries- just jump to your list, scroll down her timeline and bingo, she’s said in black and white what she wants for her special day. No slap on the wrists for you!
4. Client List – If you are worried about your competitors nabbing all your clients from you then you might want to keep this one private. By having everyone you work with in a list, you can set aside specific time to really get to grips with what they are saying and why they are saying it. It’s a good way of showing support and understanding the world from their point of view.
5. Emotions list – Need a shot of happiness? Jump onto the ‘happy’ list and find tweets that give off that positive attitude and buzz. Vital for any Monday morning.
All in all, it’s a handy tool that allows you a front row seat to the people you want to interact and engage with. If there isn’t a list out there that you want to be on, or see, then create one! Experiment, get creative and don’t be afraid to go a bit wild with your lists. Let us know how you get on!
